Julia Gerdin

Julia is currently pursuing her Master’s of Social Work at the Crown Family School at the University of Chicago. She previously earned her B.A. in history and East Asian languages and civilizations from University of Chicago. She is conversationally fluent in Mandarin, having studied the language for over eight years and having spent two years living in Taiwan as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. Julia has experience tutoring youth and adults across skill levels in the English language, as well as experience tutoring elementary schoolers in Chicago in a variety of subjects. As a tutor, she is passionate about helping students identify their goals and unique learning styles. In her spare time, Julia enjoys spending time with friends and family, weight lifting, yoga, walking/hiking, reading, and cooking when she can.
