Dayna Eglinton
Since earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology from DePaul University, Dayna has worked at the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Peggy Notebaert Museum, and the Field Museum as both a scientific researcher and an educator. She has also been a summer camp program leader and provided individualized assistance to students in a traditional classroom.
Dayna’s personal favorite topics include ecology, evolution, and botany, but she is also confident tutoring math, chemistry, physics, statistics, and English. She believes in playful and hands-on learning, encouraging students to build real connections with material instead of simply memorizing facts.
Remembering her own struggles in school, especially with math, Dayna strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for all kinds of learners. She happily adapts to different student needs and is always looking for a better way to teach. Outside of academics, Dayna enjoys drawing, practicing martial arts, and exploring different Chicago neighborhoods.
