William Wagstaff

In 2021, Will began his seventh year in Chicago as an MD/PhD student at UChicago studying cancer biology. As a Stanford undergrad, he noticed the high attrition rates of students from STEM majors. So, he pursued a master’s in education, investigating the ways Stanford could better support premed students. Will has taken just about every single biology class there is, and he knows better than most that biology isn’t simply about “memorization.” He’s worked with middle school, high school, and college students to give them the tools to be successful students even when he’s not around to help them. The study strategies he uses come from times when he was challenged by his own STEM coursework. He knows that tutoring requires him to understand not only the material, but also what motivates the student. Will is a native of Buffalo, NY, though he was later adopted by Atlanta, GA. So go Bills and go Dawgs! Outside of lab/school, Will spends a lot of time hanging out with his dog Thurgood, trying to cook his latest favorite cuisine from scratch, and discussing any and everything on Bravo.
