Sophia Peng

Sophia studied anthropology and interdisciplinary health, concentrating in health diversity, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her unique specialization in the social side of healthcare provides her with a broad knowledge base and expertise in both social science and STEM subjects.

Excellent students are built on a balanced foundation of knowledge, strategy, and confidence. Sophia believes that good teaching begins with judgement-free dialogue, taking an individualized approach to each learner. She is passionate about nurturing the innate curiosity that all people have, incorporating concepts from Montessori, child development psychology, and client-centered counseling in her teaching style. Outside of work, Sophia enjoys knitting, weightlifting, video games, punk shows, and home-cooked meals.
