Samantha Bartolai

Sam earned her bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering and a minor in Spanish at the University of Southern California. After graduation, she worked as a data analyst at consulting and tech companies, including Meta. She also spent several years as a volunteer crisis line counselor, which inspired her current pursuit of her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Chicago. Sam is a strong supporter of multidisciplinary learning and has taken extensive coursework across subjects in STEM and social sciences. She hopes to empower students to explore a wide range of academic interests.

Sam understands that each student has different academic goals and unique ways of learning, and she values curiosity and patience as a tutor. She uses an individualized approach to tutoring in order to meet students where they are at and build their self-confidence. Outside of the classroom, Sam spends her time interning as a veterinary social worker, running, trying out new baking recipes, and reading fiction.
