Ren Nielsen

Ren received his bachelor’s degree in linguistics with a minor in communications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2023. He is most passionate about second-language acquisition and enjoyed his rigorous Japanese classes, eventually studying abroad through an immersive language program in Japan at Konan University. Ren is familiar with the struggles of approaching Japanese from an English-speaking perspective and is passionate about making language learning both enjoyable and accessible. He builds confidence through personalized learning strategies that equip students with the tools to continue their learning beyond the classroom. In his free time, he enjoys attending his local life-drawing club and playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends.
