Maya Mojica

Maya Mojica graduated from Northwestern University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, a double major in creative nonfiction, and a minor in gender & sexuality studies. Maya is a passionate educator, fiction writer, and diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant. Maya has worked with youth of a variety of ages throughout her personal and professional careers, specifically as an English language tutor for students in Shanghai, China, and as a private Irish dance tutor and mentor. From both her studies and professional experiences, Maya has developed a strong knowledge base in English language and literature, the humanities, and more. In her work, Maya centers creativity, imagination, and inclusive and empathetic language as a tool for facilitating learning. Originally from Melbourne Beach, Florida, Maya is also a lover of jigsaw puzzles and a proud cat mother; she can often be found paddle boarding in Lake Michigan when weather permits.
