Kathryn Strimbu

Kathryn Strimbu

As a tutor, Kathryn brings an academic background in science, a love of learning, and a passion for making STEM accessible to students of all backgrounds. She specializes in creating visuals and breaking down technical concepts with accessible language. Having ADHD herself, she knows the importance of finding creative ways to engage with learning. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2022 with a B.S. in biological sciences and recently earned her Master’s of Public Policy from the University of Chicago, focusing on health policy and data science. While in graduate school, she received several nominations for TA of the Year from her work teaching introductory coding to students with non-technical backgrounds. She now works as a legislative analyst at Chicago City Council, focused on labor policy and workers’ rights. In her free time, she loves to read, hike, and play piano.
