Ben Cook

Ben earned his BA cum laude in sociology with a minor in French from Northeastern Illinois University in 2013 and completed an MS in infectious disease and immunology research at Loyola University in 2018. Most recently he completed the AUSL teacher residency program, to earn a master’s in education, and now teaches high school chemistry and biology. He has worked as a field medical service technician for the US Marine Corps and a biomedical research assistant at UIC & Loyola University. Ben was also a case manager and treatment team leader in brain injury rehabilitation, where he honed his ability to improve clients’ cognitive and executive functioning skills.  At EE, Ben supports students in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, physics, chemistry, biology, genetics, sociology, and French. In his free time, Ben can be found in the urban farm he developed near his home after the pandemic.
