Amanda graduated with high honors from DePaul University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary history education. While at DePaul, she was involved with everything from giving campus tours to mentoring and teaching college freshmen. Once she started teaching 7th grade, Amanda realized she needed more knowledge about reading instruction to best support her students. She entered DePaul’s Literacy and Specialized Instruction graduate program and learned to provide reading remediation to a wide range of K-12 students. Her teaching experience includes 7th grade English, history, and science. In her current role as 5th-8th Lead Instructional Coach, Amanda not only supports teachers, she also provides reading interventions to 6th-8th grade students. Amanda is passionate about making sure each student receives equitable, high-quality, and personalized instruction to meet their needs.
