Ben Cook

Ben earned his BA cum laude in sociology with a minor in French from Northeastern Illinois University in 2013 and completed an MS in infectious disease and immunology research at Loyola University in 2018. He has worked as an EMT-B, a health information technician, a field medical service technician for the US Marine Corps and a biomedical research assistant at UIC. Ben was also a case manager and treatment team leader in brain injury rehabilitation, where he honed his ability to improve clients’ cognitive and executive functioning skills. Currently, Ben is developing a social justice-based urban farming model in Chicago. At EE, he supports students in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, physics, chemistry, biology, genetics, sociology, and French.
