Sophie Hoyt
Sophie is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a BA in English with honors. She completed her degree by writing her BA thesis, “Surviving the Multiracial Body,” which was awarded the Janel Mueller Award for excellence in undergraduate writing and research. In addition to tutoring, Sophie is a Chicago-based actor and all-around theater maker dedicated to telling stories about underrepresented experiences. Her free time is mostly dedicated to baking the ultimate apple pie, listening to an absurd number of podcasts, and reading an ever-growing pile of New Yorker magazines. When approaching tutoring, Sophie is passionate about finding individualized approaches to each student’s unique learning process.
