Kate Andrews
Kate graduated from Colgate University with a double major in cellular neuroscience and philosophy. After graduating, she completed a post-baccalaureate research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health doing research on the formation of new neurons in adulthood. She then completed an MA in philosophy at the University of Chicago in 2017 and discovered a passion for teaching. After earning a Master of Arts in Teaching, she worked as a high school science teacher in Chicago for five years teaching and tutoring all levels of biology and chemistry. No matter the content, her favorite part of tutoring is helping students achieve that ‘lightbulb moment’ of a new understanding and new confidence. She believes in instilling in students not only subject knowledge but also critical thinking skills and a genuine curiosity about the world. In her free time, Kate enjoys reading, knitting, and traveling.
