A native of Oak Park, Francesca earned a BA in psychology from The University of Illinois at Chicago and went on to get teaching certification from the NU-Teach program in conjunction with Northwestern University. Over the next ten years, she taught all subjects to students, including diverse learners, in grades 2 through 5. She also served as Chair of the Science Fair Committee and participated in Family Literacy Night and Teacher Leadership Team for several years. After a decade, she stepped away from the classroom and into a new role with the Park District of Oak Park. As a counselor, she mentors students in grade K-5, and as site supervisor, she provides feedback and guidance to staff. She also often subs in the Park District’s Preschool Program. When not tutoring, Francesca enjoys crafting, gardening, hiking, playing the drums, and spending time with her family.
