Dan Laorenza
Dan attended Wesleyan University, where he earned his BA/MA in chemistry. He spent the first four years of his PhD at Northwestern University before moving with his lab group in 2021 to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In his PhD work, Dan specializes in synthetic organometallic chemistry and quantum information science. After working on highly collaborative, cross disciplinary projects throughout graduate school, Dan is convinced anyone and everyone can both excel at and enjoy any discipline in STEM. Dan has served as a teaching assistant for general chemistry and upped level lecture and lab courses and also co-led a course called the Art of Chemical Demonstrations, where the class was dedicated to bringing the beauty of chemical transformations outside the lab. Dan enjoys playing any sport from basketball to badminton, playing fetch with his cats, and playing board games with his friends.
