Celia Kelly

Celia Kelly

Celia has over a decade of experience bringing Latin to life for students in middle school, high school, and college classrooms. She believes that students learn language best when they read and hear understandable messages in the language that spark their interest. Her pedagogical approaches are rooted in best practices from second-language acquisition research.

Celia holds a master’s degree in Latin teaching from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Latin, Ancient Greek, and linguistics from Boston University, where she graduated summa cum laude, received the College Prizes in Classical Studies and Romance Studies, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Since 2014, she has completed over 700 hours of immersion in spoken Latin.

When Celia is not teaching, you can find her puzzling out today’s Wordle, learning to code, and cuddling with her cat.
