Alec Mark

Alexander earned bachelors degrees in both Physics and Electrical Engineering with a minor in mathematics from Missouri University of Science and Technology. He is currently working on his PhD in physics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research interests include experimental techniques in reduced dimensionality systems and phase transitions. Alexander is passionate about making sure students actually understand what they are studying and don’t just ‘plug and chug’ their way through math and science classes. He has experience helping students at all levels of technical ability, and is currently helping to develop a new Physics 100 class at UIC aimed at being the very first introduction new students have to physics.
